Ethics and Standards

The National Association of REALTOR® Code of Ethics is the one factor that distinguishes REALTORS® from other real estate agents. The Code of Ethics is universally recognized by practitioners, lawyers, and laymen alike as the measure of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in real estate.

Every REALTOR® is required to take ethics training every four years. However, in the unfortunate event that you have a complaint against an East San Diego County Association of REALTORS® member, we ask that you contact ESDCAR's Professional Standards department at (619) 579-0333, or e-mail dawn@esdcar.org

The Professional Standards department will guide you through the complaint process, providing support and assistance along the way. We can offer members of the public and our members different ways to solve a dispute, including voluntary mediation and arbitration.

The East San Diego County Association of REALTORS® and its Professional Standards department are supported by one of the largest trade organizations in the state, the California Association of REALTORS®.
